Everyone thinks differently when they hear the words ‘get involved.’ There are numerous ways you can help, and connecting with Between Friends means becoming an active participant in our success as an organization.
We rely on people like you to contribute through your generous giving, boundless talent and energy as well as championing our mission, vision, and values to the community.
With your help, we can continue to offer people with disabilities the opportunity to connect, grow, and belong through social and recreational programs.

As a registered charity, we rely on the support of individuals who believe in our work. Since 1982, we have offered inclusive social and recreational programs that improve the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Between Friends facilitates activities through Between Friends W.E.S.O.A.R! and I.C.A.N! Programs and through Between Friends Camp Bonaventure, Camp Fun’zAmust, I.C.A.N! Camps and Adventurers. Our programs not only benefit our participants, but enrich our community’s diversity with the unique perspectives, talents, and skills of people with disabilities. When you make a donation to Between Friends, every dollar you give will support life-changing programs for children, youth, and adults.
Volunteering with Between Friends is fun and rewarding. If you are enthusiastic and looking to make a difference in the community, our volunteer program provides you with the tools, resources and support needed to get involved. Between Friends will work with you to match your talents and interests to available volunteer positions.
Our volunteers have the opportunity to be involved in many areas of Between Friends’ work throughout Calgary. Between Friends carefully screens and selects individuals who are trustworthy, capable, positive role models, enthusiastic, and talented.
To be considered, volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Junior Volunteers from the age of 12–15 years old are invited to apply for Camp Bonaventure positions throughout July and August. A Calgary Police and Alberta Government Child Welfare check will be conducted at no cost.
