Give Stocks

Do you want to maximize your giving to Between Friends? Gifts of publicly traded stocks may allow you to do so!

If you have publicly traded stocks (i.e. securities) that have increased in value, you can give them directly to Between Friends through this Canada Helps form

You won’t have to pay any capital gains taxes on the stocks’ increased value AND you get a tax receipt for the full market value of the stock on the day of the transfer. Simply put, this means the actual cost “out of your pocket” could be a fraction of the total gift. (If you want a detailed breakdown on how this works, check out this PDF from CIBC).

Your gift of stock will fund programs for people with disabilities to connect, grow, and belong. It’s a meaningful way to ensure we can reach as many children, youth, and adults who need our services as possible.

For any questions, or to discuss the impact your donation will have, please reach out to Candice Wyma:

Support When It Mattered Most

I also want to express my gratitude for welcoming my son into your programs during a difficult moment in his life, when he truly needed additional support and connection. Thank you for adapting to his needs. He still genuinely enjoys attending your programs and continues to be very happy there. I sincerely appreciate everything you’ve done for him.” -Anonymous Between Friends Parent
