Other Ways to Give

You make the programs at Between Friends possible! And as a registered charity, there are many ways you can give.

For all ways to give, please note the following important information:

Charitable Registration #: 119217925 RR 0001

Legal Name: The Calgary Between Friends Club – Fun and Fellowship for Disabled Youth

All the ways you can give to create a better world for children and adults with disabilities:

Join our Circle of Friends

with a monthly donation here! You’ll play a vital role in bringing our members meaningful experiences for them to connect, grow, and belong every month.

Endowment:

You can contribute to the Calgary Between Friends Club Fund at the Calgary Foundation. Your gift will be invested, with the interest earned going towards sustaining programs for people with disabilities to connect, grow, and belong. You can also set up a fund in this endowment in your name, or in memory or honour of a loved one.

RRSP/ RRIF, TFSA, & Life Insurance beneficiary:

You can designate Between Friends as a beneficiary of any registered account or life insurance policy. This will allow your gift to flow directly to Between Friends outside of probate, while still providing a tax receipt to your estate.

RRIF:

You can donate from your RRIF, reducing (or sometimes eliminating) your tax burden of forced withdrawals after the age of 70.5.

Flow Through Shares:

If your income is over $250,000/ year, you may be in a good position to give with flow-through shares. This takes advantage of tax incentives for both investments in Canada’s resource development and charitable tax receipts. (It could reduce your out-of-pocket cost of giving to as low as 10%.) This type of gift has been facilitated by Pear Tree since 2007 and adheres to all CRA regulations. Learn more here.

Life Insurance

You can give a whole or universal life insurance policy to Between Friends. You will receive a tax receipt for the value of the plan, and receipts for your yearly insurance premiums. It’s a meaningful way to make use of a policy you no longer need, and/ or guarantee a significant gift as part of your legacy.

Property:

We may be able to accept gifts of tangible property, and you will receive a tax receipt for the fair market value of the gift. Please contact us if you’re interested in this type of giving. You can also easily donate a used car through Donate a Car Canada!

Trusts:

Charitable Remainder Trusts allow you to provide for your loved ones and Between Friends, while receiving significant tax benefits. Talk to your advisor to determine if this is right for your plans.

Leave a Gift in Your Will:

After providing for your loved ones, a gift in your Will to Between Friends creates a bright future for people with disabilities. Learn more here.

Donor Advised Funds:

We gratefully accept gifts from Donor Advised Funds! (i.e. “DAFs” or “private giving funds”). Learn more here.

Give Stock:

If you have publicly traded stocks (i.e. securities) that have increased in value, you can give them directly to Between Friends through this Canada Helps form. Learn more here.

Her First Choice, Every Time!

“My daughter has been going to between friends camp bonaventure and programs throughout the year for many many years and she LOVES it all. Prefers between friends to any other recreation option available. The leaders who consistently communicate things, value her opinion, assist in helping her grow and develop life skills – problem solving, communication and safety. To the other peers she makes new friends and enjoys being with them. Thank you!! You make a difference all year round.” -Anonymous Between Friend Parent
